• Guest Speaker - Chief McNeill  provided us with an overview of Tallahasses' Police Department activities for 2004, including re-affirmation of accreditation with CALEA (?).  Because of Chief McNeill's vision, this alumni association was created.  Dan McDaniel, who was present, had the arduous task of getting TCPAAA up and running in six months.  Many of our current members are also charter members.  Chief McNeill stressed the importance of TCPAAA and pledged his support for our activities and training exercises.  There was a Question and Answer period following his comments.
• Membership - Linda Smith is our new Membership Chairperson and members will be receiving an email from her reminding you that the annual dues of $20 should be paid by January 31st and no later than February 15th if you wish to remain a member.
• Training - Officer Haddon discussed the planned training activities for 2005 and the first event will be on Crime Prevention on Tuesday, March 15th at 6:30 PM in the Training Annex. Officer Kathy McGhin will be the presenter.  More Information will follow on this event. Other training activities scheduled include:
  • Communications Center where members will actually sit with the Dispatchers as they monitor calls. 
  • Inv. Abbey with the Intelligence Unit will present a workshop and patrol ride-alongs are on the training schedule since some of us have not participated since our own CPA graduation.
• Community Ball - LaHua Mahoney, Police Officer's and Community Ball Chairperson reminded members about this important fund-raiser that TCPAAA holds annually.  The theme this year is Destination Paradise.  Information has been sent out previously to members and we hope that we will have a good representation of TCPAAA members at the Ball.
